This was written when I was juggling a couple jobs to try to pay for my life and my music. It was spurred by my frustration towards the businessman with the ‘real job’ (most of my restaurant customers where I was working at the time were businessmen in finance because we were in the financial district). This frustration came from a place of being told that art is not worth as much as the work that gets done in the office building. It was built upon the mantras we must tell ourselves to keep us working our mundane jobs to sustain the thing we really believe in.
